Georgia Residents Will Soon Have Legal Access to Natural Relief Through Medical Marijuana
On March 31, 2021, the Georgia General Assembly finally cleared a way forward for Georgia medical marijuana cardholders to access the cannabis products that bring relief.
Patients who qualify for medical marijuana use have been allowed to use cannabis products since 2015, but they have not had a legal way to access medical marijuana. That is about to end, once processors can get up and running.
The state plans to award six processor licenses in the near future. Once it does, these facilities will need to grow the cannabis plants, then they can manufacture marijuana oil containing up to 5% THC. There may also be legislation coming down the pipes in Georgia, to legalize other medical marijuana products with higher THC concentrations.
Each processor will be allowed to open five dispensaries to distribute their products, and an additional dispensary will be added to the state limit for every 10,000 registered patients in Georgia.
How to Qualify for Medical Marijuana in Georgia
In order to be eligible to purchase medical marijuana oils and other products at dispensaries when they open, you will need a Georgia marijuana card.
To qualify, you just need to be diagnosed with one of the many qualifying conditions listed, and be able to prove that you are a Georgia resident. Once you have a marijuana card that’s valid in Georgia, you can consume low THC oil (and possibly other products soon) to get the relief you deserve.
Our doctors are here to listen to you, answer your questions, and help you get access to cannabis, in a non-judgmental way once the marijuana program in Georgia is in full operation.
